Any hints, tips and suggestions when looking for an air compressor?

for just normal workshop use - using an air-duster, pumping up tyres & footies that sort of stuff - just a 2hp unit with about 30l capacity. If you use a lot of air-tools - die-grinders (dremels) etc that suck a lot of air - get a V-twin compressor.

make sure the hose fittings you get suit the tools your going to use, the cheap compressor and accessory kit i got came with an odd size fittings.

Just curious, I bought one from work that is a V twin, 14cfm compressor. Delivers 240 litres of free air per minute.

I want to be able to run everything from a tyre inflator to a nail gun, duster, wide variety of air tools as well as a plasma cutter.

Came with a water trap for moisture control, snap lock fittings and 20 meters of air hose.

Can't go wrong....

I have a Spear and Jackson compressor...bought at Bunnings
single phase 10amp 240v with 40 litre (maybe 50litre?) tank

does everything from rattle gun thru paint gun to nail gun
good bit of kit....

I got a supercheap one during one of their sale..............came with a whole bunch of accessories.

Im not a workshop, so a cheaper smaller one is more suitable............so buy an air compressor that suits your needs, dont go overboard buying the most expensive stuff if all youll do it use it to pump tyres (or love wasting good money ).........

I know where there's a quite a few cheap air receivers ,
If you're going to be paint spraying or using the rattle gun for any length of time, the bigger tank helps maintain pressure more evenly to the gun

OR if your a lazy ol fart like me and use a rattle gun you def need a decent comp & tank. My 25ltr will only undo 4 wheel nuts on a car before it needs more air...major PIA.
