Help please, bike not revving past 10k

Help please, my bike cant seem to rev past 10k.

Its pretty dangerous TBH, especially when you're used to the same bike starting to boggie at that rpm.........I had a hairy moment at the snowy ride trying to overtake 2 cars, with oncoming traffic, only to realise that the bike has been castrated and ran out of puff.......

Fuel filter, fuel pump, plugs, maybe even airfilter coz those drop bears in the Snowies can get their fluff into everything

I have had plugs do something similar at 8k rpm.

Easiest/cheapest first ;)

-Oil and oil filter at around 1.5k ago

-Cleaned air filter at around 3k ago

-New plugs less than 6k ago

Havent checked the fuel filter and fuel pump, and have no idea how to check for error codes and the different codes......hopefully theres an instructional video or something about replacing the fuel filter/pump on youtube :).

Fuel filter is easy but not really a replacement item, you need to pull the fuel pump apart to do it, but its not hard.

I reckon it's hit a limp mode. Maybe get a servo buddy to stop the FI light from the servo, and see if anything else triggers the FI light.

If you have don't a filter and or plugs, have you forgot a sensor when re assembling?
Ie air box temp sensor?

As mentioned check the codes.

drained out the fuel (petrol i got in Canberra and around the snowies were crappy IMO, I like and trust my local BP servo), cleaned out the fuel filter, there was a bit of rust there but not as much as some horror pics ive seen..............

Gonna change the oil and oil filter as well. I may have over filled it and the manual has this as one reason for "no power at high speed"...........doesnt hurt to change it especially since ive already got the oil and filter in the cupboard :).

Ive jiggled the spark plug connectors but still dont think this is the culprit since i changed it a while ago and its been running good until recently......

aftermarket exhaust, FI light has always gone on.............the only time it went off was when my muffler vibrated off heheh......some guys here would know which ride that happened in :).

where is this airbox temp sensor?.....thanks Wattie, if fuel and oil filter, and new fuel doesnt work tomorrow ill check out your suggestion :)

The air box sensor plugs into the back of the box.

If that is the case check that you servo motor is working. It should spin and whine when you turn your key on. I have another fuel pump spare if you want to try that.

When did this start happening, and what occurred in the days prior,

Aftermarket exhaust doesn't make the FI light cone on. Otherwise we'd all be riding with red lights on.
Aftermarket exhausts negate the use of the exhaust servo on your bike. Not saying this Is the issue, but if the FI light is on all the time, how do you know If something else has gone wrong?

If its starving for fuel it will very soom burn a hole in a piston if you keep trying to get it to rev. More than likley in a limp mode but.
