kawasaki z900 1976

hi all i have a prob with my bike its running bad 1 and 4 pipe is hot and 2 and 3 are worm when i first start it it revs good like all 4 cylinders are working then a few revs later its like its running on 2 cylinders sometimes it runs ok after doing a few Ks but not for long sometimes you can feal it surging cuts in and out things i have done new spark plugs cleaned the tank striped all carbys and reset them changed the coils checked the plugs to the coils it has a dyna ignition that i put on well before this prob started i need help its doing my head in or anyone know a good bike shop that can help me out im from campbelltown sydney area thanks....chris

Oh my goodness. I don't know whether its the grammar and spelling but your problem sounds serious.

Dont be a spelling nazi Vivek,besides your not old enough to be even reading about classic bikes

Vivek is a newbie and yep he would have no idear about a z900, When Gos is around he will put in his 10 cents worth and it will be from experience.

Sounds like an electrical problem with the coil for 2&3. A Dyna S ignition needs coils with a specific resistance - 3 ohms to be specific.
It is also possible that the Dyna ignition is stuffed, wouldn't be the first and won't be the last.
I would change the entire ignition system back to OEM ignition coils, Igniter box and igniter coils. These are pretty much as reliable as the sun coming up each morning.

yah rooster i was down there saturday and i he has sacked his mechanic that did work on my old bike he was good dont know if the new guys are good ????and yah i know sandy and zonk not best mates but have a good chat when i see them zonk live not far from me thats why i got a z900 best bike movie

Sounds like 2 of us have come up with the same possibilitys,at least we are consistant.

- most of these issues are always found to be electrical.....

thanks a lot guys will try it i did put the stock coils back and yah ill take the dyna off and put stock back on the dyna i got new in april this year mmmm ill let you guys know how i get on thanks again .....chris
