Baptised in the hall of crash

Well "that" day finally came for me today. I joined team crash. After meeting at pheasants nest with a couple of mates we headed through bowral, kangaroo valley... which was foggy and wet road conditions. However the push still continued. Went through kiama, jamberoo and then headed along the freeway heading towards sydney, on to picton road for some lovely long fast sweeping turns. Then from there we were heading past douglas park, into appin when coming into the right hander at about 90km/h.... ran slightly wide after apexing the corner a touch to early... which left me using the whole of the road. Unfortunately the last metre of road has gravel which is by no means a good surface to have the bike into a corner.
Well all said and done, went down (lowside) and done the obligatory rolls and tumbles... where i came to rest looking at my baby on her side. As everyone does is the boot up sequence where you check "excessive pain, arms, legs.... full movement.. good to go... one where you can walk away is a great crash.
Well picked her up to inspect the damage, front fairing, right fairing, bottom fairing, headlight, indicator, exhaust, mirror, brake lever, rear brake caliper, engine covers etc.

Well after stopping the fuel leak, and coolant leak, decided to continue riding. Eventually got her home after some definate reluctance on the bikes behalf (total loss of power with cutting in and surging).
The missus..... well she knew today not to nag!.... thats tommorrow though :)
But inspected the clothing, all i can say is that it is totally worth every single cent spent to have good clothing. I was wearing dri rider stuff and considering the harshness of its baptism stood the crash. However stitching did bust apart but i would too at that speed.
So all in all it was a good days riding with many lessons learnt, ones that cant be taught in a school.
With a positive mind i even had the nerve to sms the missus after the crash and tell her i needed a new one cause this one was broken :D

All this means now is that i can put some bling on the bike with the missus not knowing :D

Tell me it doesnt hurt the morning after and i will say shit that was a goodun, it always seems to catch up a day later but its good to hear all your body parts are still where ther ment to be. :D

Bike well hey i dropped mine in the garage the other day after washing it and it did a bit of a self destruct on me but i will put it back together again, sort of proves that they are mostly repairable but the cost factor is never fun:D

Mate, hope you don't get too sore and the bike comes together without too much crap.

Quoted the above part of the story as I find the re-boot a really interesting phenomonen. The mind really takes over in moments of shock. I clearly remember my sub-consious telling me to relax while my different body parts and operating system were checked for damage.

Weird sensation.
