Bikesales worth it?
looking to advertise of 636, obviously i'll throw it up here but wondering if http://www.Bikesales.com.au is worth the cost? anyone had a good / bad experience?
I'll probably throw it up on Gumtree also - i expect 90% scammers to contact me, because everyone wants to buy a bike when they are currently located on an offshore oil rig!

More than worth it.I had calls coming in left right and centre from the moment the listing went live.Bike sold the next day.You set up your account so peeps call through a third party(part of the bike sales thing) so plebs don't have your direct phone number to cut down on spammers and pests.Costs a couple of bucks extra but more than worth it.1000% better than Ebay or gumtree.IMO

Ive done well with it. You can start with a slightly high price and then adjust until you start getting interest. It's a good way of finding where the market is.

Re: Bikesales worth it?
if you sell it then yes
if you dont sell it then no
online really is the way to sell anything nowadays
Ebay is only good to sell a shit bike for good money as a good bike will only sell for shit money on ebay

BS, Gumtree is still worth throwing an advert onto. I've sold a few things from Gumtree and it's does generate enquiry. You know the scammers methods, so just play with them when they ctc you. I had one believing it was going to happen when selling the camper trailer. Still run one on bikesales, but I would also pop an ad up on Gumtree too.

Re: Bikesales worth it?
Bikesales is a waste of time for buyers as far as I'm concerned. I've been trying to contact 4 dorks who appear to be current bike sellers for 2 weeks according to their updated postings. Only one called me back about 3 days after the second attempt to get a response - "sorry mate, I haven't been looking at the computer".
Glad to hear it works as a seller but it seems you need to monitor it regularly (and why wouldn't you?). The Trading Post idea where you have to give an operating email address where they email the contact details works far better - although Trading Post has now turned into another Sensis (Telstra) story on how to ruin a good business.

I'm sure you're right. I was a buyer but the sellers weren't keen it seems. Weird!
