Tyre life

Hey all,
People's thoughts please, even better if you actually know for sure......lol
What's the tyre life on new slicks?
I'm looking at some that are 5 years old, never used but been sitting in a shed for five years. Ntecs if it makes a difference

funny u should ask..... last fri at MP, young guy in pit bay had a new set of ntec's, the old odd ball size, that he said were like 8 years old or something, didnt slow him down, he was pretty dam quick, like 1.24 on the full track, and we chatted about it, as he was a tad worried, but he was very happy with there grip.
Ones i bought off mark last week, were stamped 8/12 cant get any newer than that

They should be fine, as long as they have been in a cool out of the sun place, they will be ok..IMO

It depends how hot the shed gets. If they have gone through a heap of heat cycles because the shed is like an oven through the day, then they will be cactus. Check if they still feel soft or if they have gone hard; and also get a feel for how hot the shed gets in the middle of the day. As the others said, if they have been kept in a cool place they should be fine.

Yeh problem is they are in nsw so I can't check any of those things
