and rossi went well to, but didnt like the bullshit around F1.
this is different for casey, he lives up near warwick, and 888 is qld based, and home a lot more often....

He will test early in the year, and all going well, money on craigs co driver. :D

he mentioned in press conference at motogp that he would be heading to Sandown.

I was watching today for when he'd pop up. 1st spied his dad standing in the background in the 888 garage. knew Casey wouldnt be far away.

He was on channel 7 news the other night, standing in the pit garage (on crutches) during practice.
Pretty keen observer. Probably been there all week, but your future employer would expect you to be there ;)

888 is going to be sponsored by Redbull next year as Vodafone are going, so I guess there is a link there.

The thing with V8's is that it's more about the amount of money, the quality people in your garage (including managment structure) and the resulting car that they produce that is the most telling factor with results in V8s.

It's the same with any highly rules restricted car categories, the last 1% in performance is extremely hard to get and takes a huge amount of money to extract and that's what gets the best results. Just look at the results, they are all within fractions of second of each other yet the same cars are at the front consistently over a season and sometimes many seasons. Sure you have a few ups and downs but the same faces regularly appear.

I worked for the tyre manufacturer that supplied Gardner with tyres in V8's and he tried really hard but he just didn't have the team to put the best car in the track, the result was sometimes trying too hard to get positions etc.

I oftened wondered if the way a top bike rider is wired, with a their riders ability to change the characteristics of the bikes handling and performance by moving weight around / changing throttle opening etc etc, whether the loss of that power frustrated them because that can't "make" the car do what they could make a bike do??

I will say that Mr Gardner did get pretty angry at times.

The only thing I hope is that Casey is smart enough to hang onto his money and not let the V8 people drag it out of him.

BTW, anyone know if Wayne gardner enterprises still has the inport rights for Michelin car race tyres??

yer, i would imagine they are different, a few of them have tested, robbie madison, chad reed. but i think casey wll prob stick it out... if he gets the hang of it.
And for sure, red bull sponsorship will help.
Be interesting for sure.

With Casey's fanbase already established it may bring more spectators/viewers :kuda:
