Been having a read in AMCN about alan kempster, and it really gets u thinking, as im sure all of u have at times over ur riding life, thort.. what if?? how would i cope??
I have many times in riding life, which is quiet long..
We think how lucky are we.. Ive had a couple of big ones over the years, tho a long time ago, ones big to be live changing, Where u have time to think/ know that this is really not good. I once spent 6 months on my back in a clinic, wondering is this it, and lots of things go thru ur mind...
Im sure u all have over the years, while chatting to ur mates...... what scares u the most about riding bikes... mine has allways been, left in a wheelchair, or lose of a limb.. then u read alan's story.

Ive never meet him, but have seen him at broady a few times over a few years, so im aware of who he is..

What a insperation he is...i dont think for one second that i could cope, with what he has gone thru.
What i had no idea about.. was his water sking skills he taught himself after his accident, 3 world titles :) :)

Then gets back on a bike and goes racing again... goes pretty dam well too.. now i think we could call him a bit of a legend.. :kuda: :kuda:

He was on that Highway patrol show too...

Fell out of bed in his caravan, broke his hip, so his mrs hooked up the caravan, and he headed off across the nullabore in search of a copper.
They couldn't help him so made him drive another 2 hours to a spot where he could meet the flying doctor. He told their coppers it was more comfortable for him to drive than sit in the passenger seat :kuda:

What a legend! 8)

I was watching the Paralympics today while waiting for bub,
Watched some Chinese dude with no arms and only one leg do the 50m freestyle was pretty special!

And he didn't even drown! Neither did he come last

What some of these guys can overcome is amazing!

What an truly inspirational bloke.
Great opportunity for 1 of the multi-national companies to get some phenomenal advertising expose and give Alan some sponsorship.. Take note all government bodies & stop wasting my taxes on your fascist road messages!!

Yer mate, couldnt agree more.... TAC where are ????
He would be perfect for a bit of sponsorship :D with what he has been thru, when a lot of people would have crumbled, me included, i reckon... and rely on the system to help them get thru the rest of there lives... but what does he do??? get better and get on with it, and learn a few more skills along the way... all the power to u mate :) :) this should be exactly what TAC should be looking for... Now imagine what sort of a AD they could do with that....

But sadly we are just bike riding scrum that shouldnt be on the roads anyway, if they had there way

U hav 2 hav nothing but admiration 4 this boy Born Green.
With all the current exposure the para Olympics r getting & fair dues 2 those doods...but the skill required to just ride a bike let alone race & be competitive is in my opinion far beyond their athletic prowess's.
He's obviously a top bloke cause he's got the brains to ride a kawasaki.
These govt bodies waste fucking millions of dollars on fucking bullshit conferences & nothing productive ever seems to come off it except to justify there own rear echelon, no life existence .(REF: y/days post by Phil).
