G'day all,

Was wondering ho waterproof your normal racing style riding boots are. I notice alpinestar have a $100 difference between the smx5 and the smx5 WP.
Are the NON-waterproof boots still fairly waterproof or do they offer no water resisitance at all?

Thanks

They have perforated leather and big vents.

But hard to make them waterproof.

SMX5s are not racing style boots, they are designed as a sports street boot. I have the waterproof ones now and my last pair were the non waterproof ones. The difference is the waterproof ones will keep your feet completely dry for about 4 hours in torrential rain where as the non waterproof ones stay dry for about 5 minutes.

None of the true racing boots are waterproof because they are well ventilated like Wattie said.

I bought my Alpinestar SupertechR boots from http://www.motostorm.it/en/ in Italy, they arrived in a week and were delivered $100 cheaper than what they were on Sale for up the road ;)

Ive got the non waterproof ones. Find them really comfy. Got a little damp on a dirt bike ride once. Feet and socks dry quick enough ;)
