Should i have to twist my new, model specific, Goodridge braided lines to fit the calipers and m/c? Is this the norm for braided lines as I would expected them to have the banjo offset to suit each model. These were made to order for my gpz 550 and took six weeks to get here.

The ones on my gumby had to have the ends turned to suit. The box came with the. Plastic clamps to turn the banjos around.
Not all lines are designed that way but.

If made to perfection to suit a certain model they should'nt,but if made generally for that model then possibley may have to twist to suit

I have sent an email explaining the situation to goodridge and wait to see what they come back with.

Properly-made lines should not have to be twisted at all to fit. They should match up pefectly with the banjo bolt so they sit nicely.

If they have to be twisted, the banjo fittings at one end are out of whack - and this will mean one or more lines will be all over the place.....

This is one reason I make my own braided lines. Been doing it for years, never had one fail - its pretty straightforward really. When you make your own, you can get all the angles *just right*.

Good luck getting anything out of Goodridge mate, they will tell you the lines were made specifically for your bike and it is a fitting error......even if it isn't.

Have you tried all the different combinations ie left/right, back to front, upside down. They're normally pretty right.

unfortunately both ends are the same orientation. the banjo bolts should be 90 degrees opposed along the axis. It just boils down to jimmy the apprentice fitter spending too much time watching the olympics and not paying attention to his job.to make them fit it would mean twisting one end 90 degrees which im not inclined to do as I expect this would then allow the line to leak at that end after its been disturbed. I am also hesitant to do this as this is not what ive paid for and if the company cant get it right thej its not up to me to fix their stuff up. Having said this i am finding its becoming the norm for companies to send faulty goods and then put the onus on the buyer. Its a pity that there is a lack of accountability and " dont give a flying f@#$ about it " attitude that is creeping into society

Do they tell you to twist the end?

glad to see jimmy has struck again. I dont like his longevity on the production line. In all fairness I expect they make a lot of products and the odd mistake is probably within their expectations. Unlike bloody ford!!!!! they couldnt organise a piss up at a brewery on new years eve regarding customer service or quality control..... but ill shut up before i go nuclear on piss poor performance.

good news heres an email I recieved tonight from Goodridge.

Dear David,

Thank you very much for the detailed information.

After looking at the info you have supplied, along with our build instructions, I can confirm that the hoses have been manufactured incorrectly. I am sincerely sorry for this error.

There are one of two ways that I can correct the situation for you.

The first is for me to manufacture correct hoses and ship them directly to you from the UK, or we have a motorcycle manufacturing office based in Queensland that I could ask to manufacture the hoses for you.

Please let me know which option you would prefer?

One other thing I should mention is that looking at the pictures of the hoses you have bought they have not been manufactured to ADR requirements, which I believe are mandatory in Australia.

Can you confirm whether you require the hoses manufacturing to meet ADR requirements.

Well! with feedback service like that it makes you want to buy their product even know the ones you bought were wrong to start with but hey at least they were willing to listen and rectify the problem

Only asking for what I paid for and glad to see they are willing to acknowledge this. A bit of customer service goes a long way.

Did they give any indication on how long it would take to get the newbies to you? Are you taking the UK or the local option? Watching for the next update.
