Why does it take a 5 min vid to change oil?

Warm engine a bit

Put catcher under sump

Undo sump plug with socket, holding socket in fingers for last few turns so u don't drop bolt into oil tray

Leave for a few minutes, Rock bike to get as much oil out as possible

If changing filter, cover headers in foil and move oil tray forward. loosen filter with filter tool, remove & drain

Wipe seal in fresh oil & fit new filter - do not over tighten!!

Put new compression washer on sump plug & refit

Fill with correct volume of oil

Allow to stand & check level

Run engine for a minute, switch off and let stand. Check for leaks at sump plug & filter. Check oil level

Done

This took less time to type on iPhone that watching the video!

Interestingly in 30 + years I've not once ever replaced a crush washer doing an oil change....go figure :D

I was going to agree.

However the sump plug on my old red rocket corolla was leaking. So i make a washer out of cardboard and hey presto!
