About four years ago a women drove onto the wrong side of the road in my area, killing two oncoming motorcyclists on the one bike. I knew the lady killed by sight- she worked at my school as did her husband. Since then the guilty motorist went to court with no penalty- her argument- a spider came down from her sunvisor (yeah right), she was distracted by her kid and had some female medical issue- pms or the like- all contributing to her being on the wrong side of the road apparently. Retarded.

Peta Carbonneau, a Victoria Police officer for almost 10 years, left the Bendigo County Court, sitting in Ballarat, a free woman yesterday after the jury found her not guilty of dangerous driving causing death.

The court was told that Carbonneau, also of Woodend, crossed double white lines while performing a U-turn in fog when she hit the motorcyclist travelling south along Black Forrest Drive. Mr Wilson died at the scene.

Do 20km/hr over the limit and you get a more severe punishment than killing someone. These laws and our legal system are seriously fucked up.
