ok guys, thanks to pontikat for identifying the extremely poor condition of my tyres(i know very little about bikes) and the inadequacies of my suspension.

lookin for a replacement of both on my ZXR250C 91 make 99 comp.
17in front wheel, 18in rear.
what are your thoughts?
what were the ones u recommended brett?
where can i get em.
how much am i lookin at.

also, lookin at gettin a harder spring for the arse end.
fitting not req, i can do that with some help, cheers rossi.

BT45s, dual compound and they wear and stick nicely.

yea i kno a few of the boys love the 45's....wot size/profile are they ?? other than 17 front,18 rear..??

Not sure. i know they have alot of size options.

gpr70 sticky as but wear out in the middle qick if you are comuting.

I am pretty sure you can get powers in 250 sizes.

bt45 are good allrounders but lack the grip if you go scratching hard up the hills but will last way better if you do 50% or more comuting.

i reckon there are a few who would disagree there beryl............tim for 1, smitty for another.....oh and me.

i've got 45's on the zeph....ask brett about the undercarrage scraping on the lil weapon.......grip well in the wet to.

I bet you havnt tried gpr70s they where the old prody racer tyres.

Tried a few diferent things on my cbr250 but i still reckon the gpr70s where the best also had bt45s but they did tend to let go easier and the dunlops where heaps more predictable like they would start to walk across the road rather than just let go.

Possibly might not ride like that though towards the end of the 250 you tend to explore the boundarys somewhat.

yep, i've had gpr70's on the supermono (rgv wheels you see). they grip like shit to a blanket. what i was saying is that the 45's are good enough to go silly on - and are alot cheaper and last longer. i also had the bridgstone version of the gpr 70, they grip pretty well too.

I'm a big fan of BT45's. Always had one on the back of the GPX and just replaced it with another, aside from having to be gentle for the first few 100km, it's going just as well as i expect it to .

ok thanks heaps guys, the bt45s sound like the way to go for now. may go the gpr70s later on when i get a bit more confident up the hills.

any info on the rear spring would be useful.

an idea of cost would be good too.
