Hi guys. I've been bitten by the track day bug and am now considering purchasing a track bike. Something that is inexpensive and great place to start. I've only been doing broadford champion days. Would should I look at getting. Problem us I'm currently riding a 2010 zx6r and going to something else will probably be worse. I'm looking at spending no more than $4500 ish.
I was thinking of a 636 that has FI.
Anything out there?
I'm in Melbourne and could be on market soon or maybe not. Depending on sale of another item.

It won't be easy to find a decent 636 for that money...

I'd think twice before buying the bike in the link...
1-'cause I bought my bike from that same shop. Can't say I was impressed with their service or mechanical skills (and that says a lot coming from me!!)
2-'cause it's a track bike with 52,000kms!!!! Might want to budget in a rebuild if you plan on riding that in anger.

that's a lot of ks.
Should I be looking at a 1000 or 600?
Never rode a 1000. Might be too much bike.

I think you'll find a good a good bike for your budget, just be patient and keep a lookout. Winter should find some good cheap trackies on the market.

I reckon you'll get one easy for that sort of money. Track bikes are like arseholes, everyone's got one so they are as cheap as buggery. You just need sellers to realize that they'll never get the money back that they paid for their bike two or three years ago. As Tim said winters here so any that come up now should be cheap.
Good luck with it.

+ 1. You are around the money for what you are after & a 600 is plenty for the track.
Although I wouldn't have used arseholes and buggery in the same sentence.

Yeah but we usually use them in a separate sentence and in reverse. ie; go to buggery you arsehole
