Anyone from Vic would recognise this section of road. It was one of my favourites

That was close.
I see that type of stuff on my fav bit of road here in NSW. Putty road is a top ride but the truks think they own it.
The sad thing is these roads are known hot spots for bikes but trucks drivers just don't give a shit about trying to stay on there side of the road. Its like there trying to kill us.

Seems that your 2km over the limit was far more dangerous...

Trucks can't physicaly stay within their lane in those tight twisty sections. No they are not trying to kill you, just trying to get a job done and earn a dollar, while your saving dollars on track days

I've seen plenty of bikes on the wrong side of the road through the Putty 10 mile.

The truck in that video had no reason to be on the wrong side of the road.
Yes I have seen bikes on the wrong side of the road to but as my mum use to say 2 wrongs don't make a right.
What your saying is truckies know they cant make it from one end of the putty to the other without having to use both sides of the road. The fact that they have to use the wrong side on blind corners and know this says to me that they don't give a shit and yes they are tring to kill us.
Its simple if you din't fit dont go. Not one single truck driver has ever asked me if its alright to put my life at risk so that they don't have to travel on the Pacific highway. There are other options it just take a little longer to get there.
The only peaple that will argue with me are truck drivers. They think becouse they work on the road they own it. I know how they think. My Father inlaw owns his own truck business and has this mind set. I drove for him for a few years and we had many a fight over useing that road. I NEVER DROVE DOWN IT IN MY TRUCK.

How do you know that ? Do you know the preceding corners of that section of the spur to know where the truck is capable of being. Do you know if he had a delivery three turns back and had no other option but to use that road ? It would be interesting to see the statistics of head on crashes where the truck, car or bike was on the wrong side of the road.

So if the truck was on the wrong side first, then the bike would be at fault, using your analogy

Sounds like the Putty belongs to you with that statement. I have never met a truck driver that thinks he owns a certain section of road, nor any truck driver that has an intention to kill a motorcyclist or any other road user for that matter. The pressure placed on truck drivers, ultimately by you and other consumers means they need to deliver their freight by the shortest most practicable (cheapest) route.
Take a minute to have a look around your home. You will see that everything inside, outside, and infact the home itself, at one stage or more, travelled on a truck. Maybe a bit of patience and thanks might be better than accusing them of trying to kill you.

Seriously??
For a bloke that states that he was a truck driver thats really hard to read.
Too many Riders i beleive these days are precious, so the truck was in his lane by about half, the rider had a shiteload of space and time and did well in not panicking like many others do, i say no harm no fowl.
Every day i ride i am aware that i may not get to my destination in 1 piece, whether it be my fault or others who cares, ive seen plenty of bad drivers and i can ride like a dickhead sometimes too. But out of all the road users i put Truckies as the best drivers on the road especially with the size of the rigs.
And no i am not a truck driver, however i do know many of them for what i do.
Stay safe.

SOME truck drivers are fuckheads on the road, like anyone else. Just that the consequences of their actions can ruin someone elses day more so.
A few years ago I rode my old GT550 to Newcastle two up (with a pretty hefty pillion, and I am also) and decided to come back via the Oxley. What an awesome road, spoiled by fuckhead truck drivers. I got caught between two of them, and being such a twisty road, and heavily loaded slow bike, I was unable to overtake. The truck behind me was trying to spook me by running up behind and braking at the last millisecond, then tailgating me trying to squash me between the two trucks. The one in front was taking blind corners completely on the wrong side of the road, so much in fact that an oncoming Landcruiser was run off the road and crashed into the guardrail. Of course the truck driver continued on. FFS!

Well if you watch the video you to will see the next 2 corners as the bike carrys on and come to the same conclusion as me. There was even a short straight befor that corner for him to reset if he did have to be on the wrong side to start with before entering that corner.

My änalogy" says nothing like that. It says there are 2 wrongs. Both trucks and bikes on the wrong side of the road.

Yep I do own some of the Putty. The part on my side of the centre line.
I have never met a truck driver that thinks he owns a certain section of road,
No they don't think they own a Certain section of road they think they own all of it.
nor any truck driver that has an intention to kill a motorcyclist or any other road user for that matter.
You do know that just becouse you don't set out to harm somone and do dosn't meen your not gilty of a crime. If you where for example to drive I don't know lets say a truck thats to big for a part of road down that road knowing it was not going to fit would have to use the wrong side of the road and lets say was on the wrong side of the road on a corner and hit and killed anyone be it car bike what ever. At the very least that person could be charged with man manslaughter.
The pressure placed on truck drivers, ultimately by you and other consumers means they need to deliver their freight by the shortest most practicable (cheapest) route.
That may be true but The putty is not the cheapest or the shortest route for most of the trucks that use it. It is however not monitored by RTA inspectores and is used by truckys that are over there time or weight. Now I know not all are over but most are.
Take a minute to have a look around your home. You will see that everything inside, outside, and infact the home itself, at one stage or more, travelled on a truck. Maybe a bit of patience and thanks might be better than accusing them of trying to kill you.
Yep everything I own did in fact at some point spend some time on a truck. Did I wait for it for how ever long it took to get to me? Yes. Did I thank the trucky that delivered it? Yes he got paid. So besides paying them for doing there job why should I thank them. If they did a awsome job delivering my XYZ than yes I'll give a extra thanks. Don't try to make me feal bad for hating on truckys that
set out to not stay on there side of the road

excuse me while I go and bash the fuck out of the next cock-smoking fuckhead truck driver who pulls a stunt like that in front of me.
You need to wake up and smell the roses pal. That fuckhead was *entirely* in the wrong lane - try pausing the clip and have a close look.
There was no excuse whatsoever for the position of that truck. Prior to the r/hander where he just cut the corner totally, there was a straight and a slight l/hand kink (heading downhill ie the direction of travel of the truck.)
He just cut the corner because he is a lazy cunt who doesn't give a fuck about other road users. Simple as that.
Your excuses for him are pathetic. What if the poor cunt riding the bike *DID* panic !@!!! you idiot, he would be dead and here you are defending this fucktard truckie !!!!!

Wow I didn't think this thread would end up down this path.......
At the END of the day there is no excuse for him being over the road like that. There was barely a metre for the bike to get through. I'm sure the truck driver didn't want to hurt anyone( who does) but the fact remains its probably the same excuse everyone who hits a bike makes" I didn't see him" " I was needing to get here quick I was running late"
Sorry............ I killed your wife/husband/sister/father/brother/mate..............
I don't think anyone would ever say it's always (insert certain type of driver/rider here) fault.
The worlds full of fools and they drive/ride all types of machinery but that truckie SHOULD NOT have done that!
