I am thinking of putting a set of Pirelli Dragons on my 636 - has anyone had any experience with them - good, bad or indifferent?

Got Diablos on my ZX6R and they are awesome. I have not heard much about the Dragons noone I know uses them. From my experience and depending on what type of riding you do I would be looking to go stickier but thats just me.
If you fit them let us know if theyre any good.

i'm just about to replace my Diablos off the zzr600 after 9000km (mixed commuting, touring and scratching around the hills) i've been pretty happy with them and if Mick's got more of em ($310 a pair) i will replace them with the same considering they lasted as long as the BT010/020 combo i had before (with better grip).

you're just a victim of the great Vic/NSW tyre rip off, i've heard about guys in Sydney payin over $600 for average tyres in Sydney

Here is where a lot of us get our CHEAP tyres. $350 a set roughly depending on sizes.

i had a bt014 rear on my old zx6r, lasted me about 7000 kms and 2 track days. not too bad, but from what i've heard about the diablos i'd go with them given the choice.

He does freight if you're not local as well.

Does he?
I can't see why he wouldn't.

saw mick yesterday for my new BT014's, he was talking about some guy he freights tyres to down south. No cheap Diablos as Pirelli has stopped discounting.
he is going to put a 012ss on the fr of the 7 ($170) and a shinko on the rear ($129). I'm not the biggest fan of the older shinko's, the 7 had one on the rear when i bought it, bit like a race tyre took a long time to heat up (there's on on the rear of the turbo busa in the lastest edition of 'Rapid'). The new ones are supposed to be as good as the Bridgies with heaps of silica for fast warm up, thicker carcas than a 'Power' but heaps cheaper (tread pattern looks like the Pilot Sport). Shinko is now the manufacture for Continental tyres.
Can't wait to get rid of the Michie sport off the front it scares the shit out of me, good when it was new but after 4000km (still got heaps of tread) its sliding all about the place.

my advice ... dont!
I only had a rear, but it was slippery when the tyre was cold I could quite easily send the rear out sideways
on the other hand, I thought the pirelli dragon GTS (MTR24?) were great

Dragons were THE tyre mid 80's but theres better available for the money MickyD, While away on the ride back from GOR I Chased Scotty on his 9 in the Wet, he had new shinko's fitted & we weren't hanging around. I was impressed how he had them doing.
Besides Mick raps em as the best budget tyre & he dont talk crap.
Cheers Brett
