Sydney Pot holes and a buckled rim

As the subject suggests I hit a pot hole the other day and buckled my front rim.
My poor ZRX looks less than perfect now.
Is there any where in Sydney that can fix it or do I buy a new rim???
I tried to convince my wife that I need to purchase a set of carbon fibre wheels but she didn't fall for it.
I think those dangerous sticks on the OPH are working with the pot holes to trap people.

Try Laurie Alderton at Smithfield.
He fixed pretty bad one for me a few years agos (hit the back of a ripple strip after being run of the track)..

Bugga, hit the council up with the bill............ You might be able to get one from the wreckers, bit less hassle than repair, don't know what the price diff would be :?

I hit the Brisbane council up 10 years ago after BOTH wheels were bent and rear tyre torn on my ZZR1100. They coughed up but it took three months. :? Each of the wheels were worth $1k. Total bill was $4.7k.

Imagine the condition carbon wheels would be in after a pothole.

Besides cash, it's the biggest reason I wouldn't buy trick wheels for a road bike.
Go to Laurie Alderton as mentioned.
His son dave does the wheels, they are really good. :-)

I recently had a dent taken out of my front wheel. It wasn't that expensive and was a lot cheaper than getting a new wheel.

The front wheel is now fixed and the price was pretty good. Two days turn around.
I priced a second hand wheel from Metro in Silver water $350.00 WTF.
I'm happy that I didn't lose my rims strickers either.

Good to hear all have worked out well, I have to admit I had been tossing up getting some wheels, but after reading this - and having 2 runs up the OPH in 2 days - I have decided against it, the roads I ride on are absolutely crap and I'd hate to damage some trick wheels.

Might need to think about a mod of another variety
