First off hello all,
I have a simple question, I currently have a yoshimura R77 Full sytem lovely exhaust really like it but always thought the actual pipe was on the longish side.
Now the question I pose is one for aesthetics purposes only, will it look better shortened and to what length, below are some crap Mspaint edits I have done.
My bike also has a PC3 with custom map but Afr's shouldn't be effected with such a small amount of the system removed. So lend me your ears and let me know what you think
Pic 1 is how it is now still looks good
Pic 2 Shortened with stock clamp (this would require the pipe just be cut)
Pic 3 Shorter with no clamp (this would require the pipe to be cut & bracket to be welded to the back of the can)
Pic 4 Shortest with no clamp (this would require the pipe to be cut & bracket to be welded to the back of the can)

Either 2nd or 3rd option. Yeah the original pipe is definitely too long imho(doesn't suit the bike). I've gone with an Evotech hanger & blanking plate on my Gen 3 as it looks much cleaner than the oem hangers/rear pegs + i won't be pillioning anyone .

3 or 4 defiantly.
Although I would be slightly concerned with your tune. The length of the pipe will change the tune... By how much, I don't know, someone smarter than me will know.

Or just sell it and buy a proper Yoshi shorty
TBH I don't think the stock length looks that bad .

If I look AT the pipe 1 and 2 look good.
If I have a glance at the whole bike 3 and 4 look good.
3 my favourite

I'd go with the easy option juts leave the stock clamp, bring the badge down to the clamp. Don't put the clamp over the badge, that looks silly.

Shortening might affect the tune of the exhaust possibly loosing HP. Had this happen before. Cheers.

Thanks for all the opinions everyone exactly what I was looking for will go see my local stainless steel guy and see the difficulty on the bracket mod.
I am still torn between 2 & 3 leaning towards 2 because when I pillion the heat will be less when it has the rubber to insulate the heat between the pipe and hanger and I personally feel the hanger adds to it. So my aim is to shorten it and get the Plate as close as possible.
Also once shortening is done AFR's will be checked for piece of mind.
Funnily enough This had a R-55 once upon a time with original owner then he upgraded to the full Yoshi R-77 system. He had the R-55 on his misses R1 and then his house burnt down and my mate know has the crispy R-55 on his shelf.
Thanks Again for all you help

I also got the metal part inside the outlet shortened
