All you dirt heads out there be careful.

On Thursday night one of Chris's mate's had his YZ250F knocked off out of his garage. The scumbags cut a hole through the perspex panel in the top of the garage door and pulled the automatic release to get the door up. Then they cut through the chain to the floor and pissed off with it. The cops said that 6 were reported pinched in Kellyville/Rouse Hill on the same night. It's the old trick where they follow you home to find where you live and then come back later. The cops specifically asked whether he'd been to Appin or were a member of Macarthur District M/C Club (the mob that run Appin) so it looks like something stinks there.

Get insurance too, it's as cheap as buggery for dirt bikes, unfortunately Matt didn't so he's lost it cold.

Be careful though and don't take a chance with your dirt squirts.

Might be up to their old tricks in the Macarthur area...... A few years ago, a certain bike dealer in the Macarthur area, was selling new bikes along with Finance and Insurance, and then he sold the customers personal details to some thieves. The link was made after so many bikes were stolen in the first week. I thought the coppers busted these guys, or maybe they have been released and they are at it again....

when i was riding at pacific park, the owner there told us to be wary of anyone following you, they've had it happen heaps of times.
Stealing dirt bikes is nothing new the ones that arent rego'd once there stolen theres no real chance of seeint it again.
a couple of days before i got back in from the middle east there was a raid on and about 35 bikes were stolen from all over the perth area

Some of them will cover little kids bikes ie PeeWee's etc but not big bangers. Dirt bike insurance costs abou $120/year and it covers you for damage while you're towing, theft off your trailer, out of your garage etc. There are some issues if your bike gets stolen while it's off the trailer at a MX park etc though.

Yep, it was a big bugger but a big set of bolt cutters will do it every time. He also had it wedged behind the garage pillar between stuff so they would've had to lift it over the boot of a car to get it out. There wasn't a mark on the car other then some fresh finger prints so hopefully the bastards have some form.

this is nothing new and has been going on for years, and the oldest trick in the book is to follow you home from where you were riding, i live on a main road so i used to get really paranoid about gettin the dirty out and bringing it home as so many poeple drive past.

i think the best thing is to basically lock it down the best you can, i used to have a chain going to the shed, cable through both wheels, frame and through the shed and had padlocks going through front disk and one through back sprocket and chain.
might sound like over kill but i thought they will think its to much or they will make enough noise for someone to hear them.

as it has been said once its gone unless you find it yourself its almost never gonna be found.

there was storys a few years ago of poeple stealing a car, then going to check out a bike from the paper, giving the bikes owner what they thought were the car keys, taking the bike for a squirt up the street an just kept going. never happend to anyone i know though so it may just be storys

good luck with getting the bike back :kuda:
