Looking for tips how to slowly kill off the neighbours tree?.

My neighbours’ orange trees hangs over my fence dropping all its old oranges/ leaves into my pool, and I’m sick of asking the F### wit to cut it back.

So I’m looking for a good tip to slowly kill of his tree off. (Yes… I’m able to get access to the root system…hehehehe)

You do have the right to lop any over hanging part of the tree that encroaches your property.

Then put up some sort of barrier the same shape as the tree and paint it green so that it looks like the tree.

A bad/FW neighbour is not as bad as pissed off one that is out for revenge.

Why do old oranges drop on your side...pick them and eat them....their free afterall.

Because you asked here you go!
Go to Bunnings and buy a Litre of ROUND UP concentrate. That will cost around $40. Mix 10 ml concentrate into 1 litre of water. Spray it on the tree leaves and branches. And cover as much area as you can. No need to go to the root. It will kill the branches you spray on and the surrounding ones that 'touch' it.

However, the neighbour may be feeding his kids oranges from this tree. I'd be VERY WARY of poisoning it. lol. Can you not seek help from the council perhaps?

Bunnings basic Round-Up at 10 ml a litre will have little impact on a well developed orange tree. Putting it directly into the tree trunk or limbs will have a far better result It will just grow back again anyway.

I suggest cutting the limbs off that over hang and put them back over the fence or in their front yard.

Tordon Timber control is a winner if you want to kill the tree. Its not easy to get, but the results will vary between 'dead' and 'very dead' in a short timeframe......

This bloke seems to be a local to you. Hire his services to move the tree a few feet.

copper nails into the roots is a slow death i believe...

The laws may have changes, but, you have a right to prune what is overhangiong into your yard, on the proviso that it does not destabilise the tree (highly unlikely with an orange tree). Poison the tree and your neighbour may poison your pool (I reckon it would serve you right too lol). I have had experience in this area and I reckon communication is the key, take a couple of beers out next time you seehim/her in the yard and have a talk about it, most people are pretty reasonable. If you still don't get anywhere, then talk to your local Council, they do have the power to force your neighbour to have the tree pruned if they consider it justifiable.

If all else fails, then maybe think about poisoning, but remember, Karma's a bitch.

better off finding a way of killing it slowly then he may find it hard to prove that you poisoned it,if spray leaves with round up it will kill the leaves quickly (1-2wks) and then it will be on for young and old with the neighbour.Try watering it with salt water,that'll fuck it

+1 for the copper nails. Sneek in when they are not home. Dig just below the ground around the trunk and hammer a few nails in then replace the soil to cover your tracks. Make sure you counter sink the nails as they might see them when they dig out the dead tree.

Copper nails seem to be the trick...now where Would one honest neighbour buy them from...hehehehe.

Reckon you should look into building a boat , a timber boat . Great relaxing hobby

Inject Roundup into the roots.

Copper nails are good, but if you have access to the root system on you side of the fence then drill some holes in the root and dose with poison, anything will do i wouldnt buy it .

But with that said, its an orange tree just how many leaves can it drop? Plus you are well within your rights to trim any branches on your side.
