WHAT TO DO, OR NOT DO

Been wondering what to do for a while.
Those that know me, know ive got a 07,10 and a 96 ZX7R, now the 10 is a track bike only, had since new, so is not a repairable write off, so can go back on the road without a prob, but i dont have any bodywork, that got sold a few years ago.

The ZX7R is pretty well orginal, i bought it 3 years ago, and havent done anything to it, other than maintain it.
Now the question i would like to ask, is do i restore the 7 back to concourse, and is the 96 ZX7R going to be collectable in the years to come?

The reason i ask this is... the 10 owes me a lot of money. around 35 grand and is a lot of bucks for a track only bike.
As i want to have a tracky, i have been thinking of putting the 7 on the track, to do that, it would get butchered, if so i would fit a tricked 9 motor in it, raceglass ect.. and turn the 10 into a streetfighter, have been looking ot them on the net.

The 7 just doesnt cut it as a road bike, uncomfortable ect, and not really a bike to ride to work, play in the hills is ok, but i just dont ride that way in the mountains anymore... keep that for the track these days.. old age catching up
The 10 turned into a street fighter would be great i think, it has all the right gear on it now, and i think would be cool to have. but there is still work to go with it, but that can be done on the run.

The question im asking, is should i butcher the 7, or restore it hoping it will become collectable some time??
Just after peoples opinions, as ive been thinking about this for a while now..
Cheers

I think all things are going to become collectable one day but the thing you need to ask yourself is have i got somewhere to store it for all that time ,am i going to be around for when the bike becomes a wanted and collectable item, will i restore it for the kids to have one day,and the answer would be the same as a lot of us are saying know and that is "gee i had one of them years ago wish i still had it know" or sell it and invest in some older bikes like Jonnos about to be doing.good luck :kuda:

Hard call, and in all honesty go with your heart not your head. Its about passion and what feels right for you. I hold up myself as a good example of going with my heart - not my head - and I am happy with what ive done. In fact I am more than happy. ;)

What about high bars on the 10 as a road bike, like the Wattman and Gazza have on the crim's? Best of all worlds IMHO.

Good luck and remember to do what YOU want ;) not what other tell you you should do ;) ;) I wouldnt have the bike I've got now if I didnt ;)

Thats the problem, ive had some nice bikes over the years, ELR, Z100R MK2, turbo, and a couple of 70s Zs but they have all gone.. and i dont have any kids to leave them to
My old man has got some nice bikes that he tells me are going to be mine one day..
And i do think the ZX7R maybe collectable one day.. and i dont think the 10 will be, and it been modified to much anyway.

So tell me if I understand it correctly.

First option is that You are considering selling the 10 once you covert it back to a roadbike? And convert the zx7 into a track bike?

Second option is continue as is?

No vivek, not selling the 10, its not worth much, maybe 6/7 grand, it owes me $35,000!!! and i still want to finish the project with it, it will be getting brembo mono blocks soon, and im chasing 200rwh out of it, thats prob this winters project, but that can still be done if i turn it into a street fighter, and i would keep it as a road/ fun bike.
The 7 would be a ok track bike, once set up..

Yup, if you can afford it I reckon that is it.

Restore the 7 and keep it in the shed. That way you can sell it to my son in 20 years time for like $50K! :kuda: :kuda:
