I do a fair few track days at broadford and could have been interested but even with the difference including the discount the Island school will appeal to more punters on average.Dont get me wrong i am not knocking your services but considering MV day at broady is $110.00 but with out tutoring, preston race school which is held twice a year is $120 but does include class room tutiors and some follow up on the track.
I have not done PI school as i do not want to start at level 1 after riding for more than 30 years and doing more than 20 track days in the last 2 years at a minimum i would be just chucking $500 in the bin doing started courses.I think if u offered something around $300-350 all up your about on the money.

I dunno... I got 130km in on the xmas track day thanks to fools deciding to spoil everyone's day. I get almost double that on a CSS, anyone being silly buggers gets red flagged and pulled in pretty quickly. Double the price, double the kms, safer, and I reckon there's something there for everyone. Was interesting when I was in level 1, I spoke to a couple of blokes that had been right through CSS to level 4, been track day junkies for years, and still decided it was worthwhile coming back for level 1.
One of these days I'll probably give top rider a shot too.

Thort hard about getting into this, but what the farrk...
Im sort of with mal on this.. some prices seem very expensive for these courses, reguardless of what they say they offer....
Cant speak of top rider, so wont comment.. CSS is a bit of a rip off i think, for the reason mal said, u have to do level 1 1st, than 2 ect, how much is that going to cost u all up??? and i myself would not do for the same reason mal said... ive been riding for 34 years on the road, and doing track days for 31 years, and was a riding instructor for 7years, and raced dirt bikes, motorcross, enduro, speedway, so why would i want to start withnewcomers starting out?? learning the same stuff i taught for 7 years....
I did alex gobert's road race performance academy 3 years ago, just to see what i could learn, in the classroom, nothing i didnt know, and most of it was stuff i taught learner's anyway..
But what i did pick up, was the on track stuff with shannon and the like... was it worth it? prob not for the money...
I think if ur a handy track day punter, the go is to do the stuff champions do, with wayne ect... $150 for the day..
As far as CSS goes i prob cant say on this forum without getting in the shit, but i think a few of u know what im not saying

at least you thought about it - everyone's different and may not have all of your experiences to draw on. & is that 150 on top of the ~175 regular track day fee? TR/CSS charge what they feel is appropriate, and the worth of these courses comes down to the individual. For the learnings & the application, not the gradings. People wouldnt keep re-doing them if it was only about getting to level 4.
I haven't used TR's services before so there's no bias from me, but I can appreciate there's expenses involved beyond the obvious, and the reasons for tiered level system from a business and learning pov. Some people would be happy to spend 2+K on a full exhaust and PC, maybe some tirewarmers etc and anodised purple levers and matching boots, and still putt around the track with no idea. I'm not being a smart a$$, but as an example, how much value do you place on dropping a few seconds, 1s, 0.5s, less? That learning you have from a side conversation with someone might be all it takes, that you may not have had for 6-12mths, who knows, was it $$$ well spent? Even if it keeps you a few positions ahead for a few rounds. That's just my perspective, obv your's is different. As I said, I haven't done this course, but I can appreciate there's value in there.

I don't know if magazines sugar coat things or not but here's a quote from the AMCN article that covers what you are saying.
"I’ve done a lot of rider training with many
different companies (including HART,
California Superbike School and Stay Upright),
and was a riding instructor myself in another
life, so I figured I knew what to expect. It
turned out I was wrong. Bernie said things
to me about my riding no one has ever said
before, and I am confident in saying I am now
a better rider than I have ever been. Bernie
built on my skill and knowledge level – most
of which was gleaned from the quality training
I’ve already had – and took it to the next level."
CSS has it's place and is a great thing for learning riders, but after doing a couple of levels, I have no interest in spending that sort of coin for any more. I am, however, somewhat interested in spending the day with the likes of Bernie Hatton and Shawn Giles so they can work on my imperfections and improve my riding. I think the fact that the number of students is kept small and you get a lot of personal attention makes it worth the money when you compare it to what else is on offer. Now I just have to save enough to be able to afford a day at the The Farm.

Stay upright: 5-6 students per instructor+++, if you act like a douche and ride a ducati you get personalised coaching, otherwise... not
CSS: 3 riders per instructor. I found I get more out of it if I try to ask more questions, but these guys are doing 15 sessions a day, you're only doing 5. They are run off their feet and time is short. I'm going right through purely so I can get to level 4 for 1-on-1 coaching and repeat if necessary, can appreciate it's a costly endeavour and lots of hoops to jump through though.
Top Rider: ??? Looks like it's worth a shot though. Makes sense to me that less riders = higher cost, since you'd think many of the costs would be fixed and divided amongst the number of participants.
What I want to know though, is what is the EC day??? At only $249 it's the same as a regular track day, and only 15 riders on track at once sounds good.

Hear u mate,
I dont have a problem with training, i have often adviced people to do it, be it road training or trackwork
Done a few myself over the years..
AS i said, i cant and wont comment on TR as i dont know..
The CSS course i did in 98 was a one day course, and i thort was useless, and that is been polite
Same with things like hart, i applied for a job with them when i moved from brissy, talked myself out of it at the interview, reason, i didnt beleive in the way they trained, understood why, just didnt like it. so i dont reconmend it to anyone, be it right or wrong...
The champions coaching is on top of the track day cost, so yer it adds up to.. but i would be happy to pay the $150 extra to spend the day with wayne, as i have a lot of respect for him.. but he doest do the fast groups, as ive asked him a few times, he said he would love to, but cant get the numbers, he said i was the 2nd one who has asked him at broady.
Myself, i just often wander around and chat to the real fast guys like wayne, chris ect, and pick up there tips, and when they get to know u, they often chat, the latest tips i got on sat, dont ask, u wont get
And yer on the people who spend shit loads on bikes and gear and put around with no idea

We had a few of them on sat...
