Computer issue

I have a new computer with the latest Windows and Internet Explorer. I'm having trouble loading and viewing Youtube links as well as some other links posted up here. FB is also the same. When I clink on the Youtube play button it just flickers like a 70's television set. Is it an easy fix or do I need to take it to the shop.
I've been tol it's in my settings, but I have no idea how to fix it

(not computer savy me). Cheers

Update your Adobe Flash Player. Then reboot and it "should" work. I'd also suggest throwing the new IE in the bin and using something like Firefox or Chrome (which I prefer).
Also, try downloading and installing the K-lite codec package. That should just about cover you for everything you will ever need video wise on your PC.

Cheers Benno, that option comes up most times I turn the computer on. It says update now, or remind me later. I'll stop hitting the remind me later button

Yep have Google Chrome & Firefox. Can't read the small print on FF. I Was able enlarge the print on GG, so I'm going with it. One issue though it doesn't show the post read after I have read them.
Can't find the Adobe upgrade, so I'll wait till it pops up again.
Thanks for the help...

I'm not that far in front of you by the sounds of it. I just googled Firefox download and clicked on the link. Then I hit run and it did the rest on it's own. I lose the plot when I have to choose options, cause I have no idea either.
