Just heard some bloke at work say that speed cameras on Hume freeway are Point to Point and that they calculate average speed between 2 cameras?
A bit worried now since yesterday's run upto Broadford. Wasn't speeding per say but did overtake a couple of slow buggers and that would push out my average slightly..
Read a few news articles as recent as September 2011 that they were turned off due to incorrect fines being issued since Oct last year. Anyone know if these have been turned on again?

Point to point systems are stoopid.
For eg
Speed sign is 80km/h and you travel a 5km distance from point a to b. This equal 3 mins 45 secs. 100km/hr over 5km = 3 mins
That leaves 45 secs for you to pull over & laugh at the point device.
Note: I dont condone speeding.

YEP. stupid, but they caught a lot of people.
The reason they got turned off this time, a lady got done at some sort of speed, that she could prove was not able to do in her car, must have worked, as we all know, they dont like to lose there money....
Note: I dont condone speeding.

most of those camera;s are in a 110k speed limit anyway, so if u got the cruise control on at say 120, with speedo error ur prob ok. but u rode up, so that buggered that idea!!!!!
