Motorcyclist Liv Andersen has been riding for 40 years but refuses to use Gorge Rd.
VETERAN motorcyclist Liv Andersen feels safer on a motorbike than in a car - but she refuses to ride on Gorge Rd.
"Gorge Rd is a fairly narrow road and it is where most of the fatalities have been," Ms Andersen tells the East Torrens Messenger.
"It is also home of the 12 minute club, which involves guys racing from Lobethal to the bottom of Gorge Rd in 12 minutes to qualify as a club member.
"It is not a road I choose to ride anymore because it is too dangerous."
Ms Anderson, who has been riding motorbikes for more than 40 years, is urging fellow riders to be safe on the road.
Her plea comes in the middle of a police motorcycle safety campaign focusing on crash hotspots, such as Gorge Rd.
