What to get

Hey All,
I am soon coming off my restricted license and have been deciding what to get.
I mainly want to get a ZX-6R as I feel the 10R would be way too powerful for my limited experience.
My question is if someone had a choice out of a brand new 2011 model or an 08,09 or 2010 model what would you chose.

What are you riding now.
Even a zx6 could be to much power compaired to what your on now.

I am deciding on the ZX-6R as the ZX-10 will be too much power and the 6 is plenty for the road. I would like to try taking it on the track one day but when i gain a lot more experience and confidence. I will prolly order the bike around mid January to beginning of FEB... wonder if they will accept my EL250 as a trade in lol.

Get a 600. To jump from any learner bike to a 1000cc anything is just to much. Even the 600 will need to be treated with respect.

Come to think of it, I went from a 250 to ZX7. Now that was fun!

Go for a 6R. It will get you out of trouble while you are learning to handle the new lease of speed and powerband. I can think of quite a few situations where if I was on a thou I would have been a smear on the road. The 600 is awesome fun - I have a 09 > great handling, brakes and nice midrange.

But can they ride? Everyone I see go straight to a 1000 has huge chicken strips and never uses full throttle unless it's in a straight line, much like ZX14 riders.

But I didn't see you do it, did I?

Can't you just let me stir up Steve without you bringing facts and reality into it?
