Well we have had two family members leave us in the last year.Firstly Kazzs dog Keesha died suddenly last november, she tried everythiong possible to save her but it just didnt work. This week my Staffy Mister who was just 2 weeks short of his 15th birthday also passed.
He was a tough bugger after defeating neck tumor when younger then also defeating testicle cancer he plodded along.A few months ago he had a stroke but amazingly after some muscle relaxent he recovered the next day as if nothing had happened. Then he had a lump on his ear so i gave him some anti imflamitories and it was reducing but on monday his mouth was severely swollen and he had trouble breathing so i took him to the vet .Since Kazzs loss she has a new puppy which is 5 months old Labradoodle.Yep its one of those fluffy doodles.
After some thought i decieded to get another dog pretty much straight away,as then they could grow up together, plus he is so cute i couldnt resist.By no means am i totally over the loss of my mate of 15 years and will always remember him as he was such a part of my life.
rip
mister.

You sure do get attached, don't you? My dog is coming up to 15 years and has pretty bad arthritis in her hips so I know we'll have to say goodbye soon. I sympathise.

Sorry for your loss mate. I love my dogs as much as the mrs... well more really.

A mate had two wittle chiwaawaa's that were 18 and 19 years old... one had past in the last 12 months but the other is still kicking on.

So sorry to hear about Mister's passing Mal. He had a great innings at 15 though and hopefully you can keep all the things he did which made you smile, to the forefront of your mind. Great decision to get the new dog another playmate who can grow up with it. Much better for the puppies.

My dog has been gone for ages now, and I still look out the back door and expect to see him.

Sorry for your loss.

Attatchment to a pet in a lot more intense than to any human.
I still think about a dog I lost 30 yr's ago ffs!
Feel for you Mal and Kaz

They are mans best friend......thats for sure......nice looking Staffy there highly underrated dogs, i have a bull terrier and gets walked off the lead and love seeing people get outta his way with a terrified look as if he was about to munch on their ankle......

:( You never forget your animals because they are almost like your kids. We had 2 Pekingese which were 13 and 14 years old when they died it is a very sad occasion when this happens but we all know they are in doggy heaven.

RIP Mister

cheers
