I saw this in the Melbourne Herald Sun a few weeks ago and meant to post it up.
Got reminded of it, when a member of the Melbourne Sportsbike Riders Club posted a link today, so here it is.

The debate comes as VicRoads statistics cited at the inquiry revealed while motorcyclists comprised just 1 per cent of traffic volume and 4 per cent of registered vehicles, riders account for 14 per cent of the road toll.
With a statistic's like that, they won't be letting this one rest....
However It would have been interesting if they broke down the 14% to include, how many were speed related, who was actually at fault and the other reasons making up the 14% of fatalities.

break down the 14% and see how many of these fatalities were for riders not wearing adequate, if any (beside a helmet) protective riding gear.
I recall reading this same issue is QLD a year or so back. How would they ensure the 'e-tag' is not removed/tampered to render useless? could thats what I would be doing

Yeh, it'd be a shame if the battery was flat wouldn't it.
