There's a meeting tonight at Deakin Burwood organised by Motorcycling Australia if anyone is interested.

The Australian Riders’ Division of Motorcycling Australia is hosting a riders forum called ‘Talking Bikes’ at 7pm on October 28 in the LT12 lecture theatre at Deakin University, Burwood Campus, Melbourne.

Don't know if it will get anywhere, but at least they are trying to get something happening.

It fair pissed down in the hour before the meeting started so the attendance was low. Main purpose was to talk about the Smidsy campaign being run by Maurice Blackburn, a law firm that acts for a lot of injured riders. They have become frustrated with TAC's attitude that anything involving motorcycle accidents is the riders fault. Also a few of the other people that made submissions to the recent vic government enquiry into motorcycle safety were there. Finished by talking about the filtering campaign that motorcycling australia are running. Seems Vicroads are listening and there's a chance of legislation to legalise it. Small beginnings but it might eventually get us somewhere.
