Malaysian MotoGP 2011 Pics

Well finally back from Malaysia this morning, so have finally put up a couple of pics from the MotoGP. I didn't get as good photos this year for some reason and not one good clear one of Super Sic unfortunately. I think I'm up for a camera upgrade in the new year.

The weekend started really good, the weather was just about perfect, about 31 deg and at times slightly overcast (as it turns out this was the trend for most of the weekend). I spent Friday walking around the stands getting lots of pics, mostly from the hairpin as its about the the best place to get some pics without going for a long walk out on the hills amongst the snakes!

We couldn't get into the back of the pit this year due to increased security, they had Dorna guys as well as the local security guys on all the gates that weren't chained up.

Sat was in the pit box, this year we were above Westies pit. We managed to consume a few drinks and plenty of great food and watch practice and qualifing.

Sunday, started promising with a 125GP & moto2 right up until lap 2 of MotoGP, as I have posted on FB it was appalling to watch the ensuing display from people in the grand stands and even some of the people in our box. Now I know that people weren't told of the seriousness of the accident when the race was cancelled, but you would think that anyone who rides a bike or even follows the MotoGP would know that something serious had happened.

Anyway here are a few pics from the Fri & Sat, there are a few more in my photobucket account as well.

RIP Marco Simoncelli

Great angle Frank. Geez look how much Stroner is getting off the bike.

Must have been something to see the way it all unfolded when you were there, sound like people weren't very understanding :(

Won't need them, Shoulder sliders will do the job and the elbows get tucked in ;)
