A quick question

Having just done a ride day, should I change the oil and give her a fresh batch? Any other follow up aspects?
The bike has only just had the 12000km service and had the valve cover gasket replaced under warranty!
Cheers.

How hard did you ride it?

I change my oil midway between the scheduled service interval, and take 1-2000k off for a trackday, so my oil changes are often and allover the shop

In my opinion, it worked quite hard. 14000rpm was the fastest it was spinning and it didn't miss a beat.
The next service isn't due until 18k, so still a way off. Maybe I should do another track day, then give it an oil change.

I change my oil after each race meet or every 2 -3 track days. Yours should be ok for another track day but if your ever in doubt, just do it.

$50 every 2 or so months is cheap insurance for your engine
I do a change every 2nd track day or 2500 -3000K intervals for the road bike

Follow blurr, and robs advice stu, if ur a bit worried, change it.
My roadie every 3000
zx10 trackie, every 2nd track day, it gets a fair workout. so with that, it works out about every 250 klicks!!! but remember, they got a wet clutch, so they do get crap in the oil, no matter how clean it looks when u drop it.

A filter every 2nd oil change for both bikes is enough for me

That seems to be the norm for most rob, and im sure thats all any bike needs.
Its prob a bit of overkill, but i rev the 10 hard all day at the track, and in summer it does get hot, but i do get my filters cheap, some times he throws the filter for free, so that helps.
