Brings a tear to the eye
I cant imagine loosing something that you are so passionate about, cagers wouldn't understand but to riders... well this must go deep to the core of emotions, Ali once again we feel for your loss.

+1
Having only recently discovered the joys of riding, doing rides like Gingers where I met Ali, and the many riders I now call friends, I cant imagine having to give that up.

"Biker Nod"
I call it Bike Love... but someone needs to teach these rude little L / P platers about respect. So many bikes out at the moment due to the beautiful weather around Adelaide... not a nod is returned. I know i shouldn't care but for some reason it pisses me off when the bike love it not reciprocated.

Bugger Ali, although you suspected it, it's not the outcome you wanted
Keep your chin up, there will still be plenty to do, to keep you around bikes

thats a bugger Ali - at least you got 8 years worth of kicks, some people out there never ride a bike in their life......
I don't know how they can live with themselves !

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words

I just got back from a solo trip down to the GP (drove down) which gave me a lot of time to reflect on the situation and ive decided it still sux, but as i wrote in the letter, ive had a freakin ball!!!!!!
The situation is 2-fold....Firstly - the damage to my head caused vision loss, nerve damage and vertigo which may or may not get better. The act of leaning and the visual stimulus at speed turns my head into mush...its not fun

That is what is stopping me riding for the moment and the neurosurgeon estimates a minimum of another year or two before i see any improvement....thats if it does improve. Secondly - the damage I did to the brain stem will compound if I knock the noggin again (even a little knock) so that is stopping me riding down the track....the description the doc gave of what i would most likely experience next time round is way too scary to contemplate and not something i would want to put my family through. Everyone knows there is a risk of crashing and doing serious damage to yourself when you ride, but when you KNOW that if/when you do crash next time that you WILL do serious damage it becomes a whole other decision to make.....and one that i feel needs to me made whilst i am still living with the effectsin their current form.
Can-Am???.......definately an option if the current issues subside. There is still a risk of knocking the head on one of those but the chances of falling off i reckon is only slightly higher than impacting the head in a car accident....i suppose it will just be a matter of how much risk I want to take.
But again, i really am so thankful for all the awesome people ive met and places ive been through being involved in the riding community. It really did change my life in all ways.

I know people here who were told lots of SHIT by doctors....
If I had listened to mine I'de have sulked myself to death ffs!
I'm not saying you're sulking by any means, I'm just saying.....
DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING THOSE WANKERS TELL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They must OVER diagnose, just like Engineer's...to cover their arses for LIABILITY
You'll come good and be back to yourself just by ignoring them and having a "IDGAF"" attitude
