Thinking i might get a set of these as an alternative to 003 bridgestone race streets.Anyone run these tyres on the track before ???.
Also what the best compound for a zx9 Front Soft OR medium soft. Rear compound Soft Or Soft medium.The other thing is the rears are only available in 190/55 i normally run 190/50 whats the pros,cons of this size difference.
Dont hold back as i want to order these before the dollar really shits it self.

I don't mind these at all. Firey had these on his zx6r when I rode it both at Ec and PI and they performed really well. Alot of the same characteristics of the Dunlop control tyres but with better wear. I mean sure you couldn't push the front in as hard as a race tyre but the feedback was great. Side grip is good as well, at high lean the bike felt great.

As for the profile............................... Just ride the farker. Don't worry about silly little stuff like that. The meaurement are not standardised and is 50 in one tyre maybe a 55 in another. How meaningless that sizing actually is will surprise you.

If the profile does make any difference, it will raise the rear slightly, giving a faster turn in and a little more weight on the front mid turn. I doubt you will notice much.

I'm hearing that a lot of racers are now starting to run a hard front and med or even soft rears rather than the traditional softer front and harder rear.
I believe this is as it gives a heap more feel and allows faster turn in due to the tyre not squirming around like a soft does.
Any thoughts. The Dunlop rep is also spruiking this line ??

The medium front 211gpa's destroy themselves. Too soft me thinks.

Hards grip good and last.

Yep the hard was the control tyre for the first 2 rounds of the FX this year after the disastorous season last year with the medium fronts destroying themselves after about 15 laps.

The hard fronts are easily lasting the whole race weekend (about 60 laps) but now they are all whinging that they are causing lowsides from the front tucking on the first couple of laps while the temps are still coming up in the tyre. So instead of tellin them to ride to the conditions we have gone back to the medium fronts and are faced with last years issues and tyre costs again.

I never hard a problem with the hard front and the will easily last the average punter at least half a dozen track days

On the sportmax the front lasted 8 days and the rear 3. I have them now on the roady and they are great in the dry but even the slightest damp they arent so good. As an average pace rider I liked them but like Blurr said earlier I found when I pushed the front it would move a little on track. I would buy them again for the roady and with the dollars tight right now for the tracky if I didnt have some freebie fronts of the 211's.
