kawasaki zxr750 1989 engine rebuild??

As i have discovered i have agear box issue on my zxr750 race bike so i a mwondering while i have it apart do i give it a rebuild eg pistons kits bearings etc... or just fix the gear box and go out and race it?? does anyone know where i can get some piston kits for the old girl, also as i am a 2 stroke man and have no idea about these engines with all the valves and cams and all the shit that can go wrong what would i be looking at money wise to freshen my diesil up?? any help or ideas would be great thanks steve

Well if it were me & the engine is ok I'd just fix the box. You can get kits in the USA cheap as chips. But if its pretty good why go to the expence? Each way bet from me hey Steve? lol :oops:

where are these kits?, I wouldn't mind getting one for just in case:)

Google is your friend, so start looking & you shall find. CJ motorcycles have a lot of old stock give them a try..
