Hi all,

Well we had a couple of excellent days at the island this week.. Monday was cool but warmed up by lunch and was a great day.. Tuesday was a bit windy, but dry all day. Lots of ASBK race teams there, great to see them in action as well as get on the track with them... (check the latest pic with Troy Herfoss !!)

I ended up having to raise the rear 8mm as the bike felt like it was wanting to run wide, plus I was having to really pull it over.. really muscling the thing around.. (well that's Kawasaki's for you..!!) but so much power.. The steering damper re-valve was completed and that was a 'must do'.. a few small suspension tweaks, but it is still going to take some time to get it feeling really good.. I fitted the new 200 tyre on Tuesday, so the rear is up another 2mm.. making it 10mm in total now, but that is the recommended ride height from all the racers I have spoken to.. I could probably go up 1 more tooth in the rear sprocket.. but again I am still getting used to the gearing.... Just fitted the BMC filter.. so nothing else required at the moment.. (except for a quickshifter.. but maybe a long way off)

The bike is running perfectly now, the suspension tweaks, throttle mod (insert), steering damper have all made a huge difference.. New tyre is now on and ready to head up North to EC at the end of the month.. I was straight into the high 40's first session.. now only 1.6 secs off my PB.. and this has only been my second real ride day at the island.. getting there But I thought I should save the tyre for Eastern Creek..

Great photo, worth framing and hanging over the mantle imo. Now tell us the truth , he signed it and you wrote over the top ''you won't sneak under me next time'' as it looks to me like you were just about to be taken.

Well I have been pretty lucky as I have some great posters in my house of different times at Phillip Island,

They are all good shots but this one is one of my best for sure.. just to be on the track with these Pro ASBK boys was amazing.. we are normally just watching them on TV..!!

I have ridden with them before but bever lucky enough to get a pic like this..

And to answer your question 'truthfully' syd.. there is no way known that any of us here could keep up with these factory riders on proper ASBK standard superbikes.. they are way too fast..!! I was just lucky I was there as he was about to pass me as super close range..

He actually wrote that quote about 'sneaking under him' as Troy is a great person with a good sense of humour..!!

But it is definitely going up in the house.. another poster destined for the pool room.. although I am starting to run out of free walls..!! He He

Yes , definetly lucky to be mixing it with those guys , they must have thought you can ride though to be that close , i have ridden with a few top guns at the track before and they gave me at least 2 metres when passing and waved as they go around

Last time i was at PI, Herfoss came past me round turn 12, i tucked in behind him on my Stock standard Gumby. watching the tacho, then i looked up and was just about to smack right up his arse!
goddam! lucky i was able to swerve around.

He was on a 600 back then

he took me back around turn 2...
