Ok everyone, number 3 child about to go out for her first solo ride on her hand me down GPX250 and I've given her the fatherly lecture on taking it easy and being careful etc etc, she's states ah but dad you're old and no fun but then as she's walking away says no that's not right you're not old just chronologically disadvantaged! Should I be offended?

I wouldnt be offended, sounds like you weren't expecting it otherwise a quick quip would have been returned

I would say I am smart enough to make it this far, lets hope you do precious.

Besides she should be grateful for a cool dad who helps her to ride a bike

An old school mates dad made him pull apart the bike and put it back together to teach him respect.

The next gen is not much better

My 19 year old keeps reminding me that he thinks he is better because he has youth on his side, but he shuts up when I tell him that wisdom makes up for any age advantage. he thinks he is king shit at work with his 2 years experience ....... no match for my 27 years & I show him up everytime.

the fastest growing group of rider fatalities is baby boomers... soon to if not already overtaken us 18-24yr olds
