Looking at going to the moto gp this year..... yeh yeh I know ( we only go to the supers).

No accomodation available. Could you camp in a swag for the 3 days and not freeze to death without wearing your winter quilted riding gear???

Maybe if you are a penquin it would be comfortable,Or you could get really lucky with the weather but if u do go i would certainly have a plan B.
Maybe stay with someone in melbourne and commute to the island or just HTFU

mmmmm interesting, HTFU may be the option. I'll look at places a bit further away from the track, might get lucky.

I camped last year in a tent, as long as you have a good sleeping bag no dramas

October is the same as march, you'll get sunburn and windburned in te same day... Camping in a normal tent and sleeping bag will be fine

If you have a look around there is a bag called a 'softie 9' which is really good, lightweight and very small or you can try to get your hands on an army issued winter weight sleeping bag,it's a bit bulky bt very warm might find one at a disposals store. Have been in extremely cold and miserable conditions with both and highly recommend either.

You will get 4 seasons in one day, so pack for all types of weather, Bottle Bourbon always keeps me warm ;)

Roman do a -5c sleeping bag which bunches up into a tiny little package and is great for bike travel. I have one, it is very warm, even on a cold night. Black wolf do a tent called a Mantis, which also packs up into the tiniest of little packages and is great for bike travel. I have one of those too. Both will fit on one pannier on the Rex! 8) The Mantis is a small tent though and there is only enough room inside for you and your gearsack bag.

As for the weather, fuck knows!! As others have said, it could be boiling hot, it could be freezing cold, it could be pissing with rain and one or more all on one day as well!!! It's Phillip Island and it's more unpredictable than a GSXR1100K front end!!! ;)
