I just saw the police ram a bloke off his bike at the corner of the Great Western and Werrington rd.
I think it was a ZX-10...It was black with what looked like red flame work.
It was a bit hard to see with police, people and traffic every.

If they have been chasing the bloke for a bit, and he is running red lights & stuff like that ...... they will just take him out.

As carefully as possible of course :?

but they can do this.

Or they could be a kiddie fiddler for all we know. If they had 3 police cars around the bike it would suggest he was doing the runner and wasn't very good at running

This should go to goose of the week.

Or it may have been a stolen bike and the person riding may have been bike thief scum :?

Who knows what the story was - I'm all for zero tolerance of bike thief scum ;)

don't worry... if it's a bike thief, Pedo or the likes they'll get free Medical for any injuries sustained and optional Porcelain Veneers...

if my bike was stolen and thrashed i would appreciate if the Police made sure it was a write-off as opposed to having it returned flogged

So, put yourselves in that riders situation. For whatever reason, you, a normally law abiding citizen, have a little brain snap for whatever reason and try and do a runner. Does this justify the police attempting to knock you off the bike & perhaps succeeding in killing you? :? Would the end result be commensurate with the crime???

As much as I hate bike thieving scum, would I want someone to lose their life because they stole my bike? Perhaps not. Justice sure, but not to take their life.

Why escalate a minor traffic infringement into a runner? Potentially coming under Skye's Law (a law in NSW named after a girl who was killed by a person doing a runner, admittedly they were robbers who crashed).

Put yourself in the coppers position, if a person is refusing to stop what should they do, say please over the loud speaker, threaten to tell their mum. Personally if you refuse to obey the reasonable instructions of a police officer then you leave yourself open to the discretion of the police as to what means they choose to make you obey. Hey they could take the VIC solution and shoot him first!

I have and my opinion is that I would not want to kill another human being for something like that. If it was a matter of him or me, he goes of course. But in that situation, I can't see how doing that type of thing could ever be justified. The risk of killing the rider is too great. Is killing a human for doing a burglary or stealing a posession justifyable? Dig deep into your heart and hopefully the answer will be similiar to mine.....NO! :(
