What a fizzer from Webber. He seems to have a problem when caught behind cars unlike Vettel.

My prediction for next year for Webber - Ferrari or retirement...

Ferrari?? Not likely. Webber is overrated in F1

I read recently that webber has strugggled with the new overtaking technolgy on the cars. There always seems to be some reason/excuse for him not winning (similar to Charlie Sheen  ) but having said that he has more ability than I'll ever dream of.

Funny for someone who is considered by some as only above average at what he does he is paid exceptionally well (considerable more than Stoner for example) most likely a reflection of the sport in general

I don't think anyone doubts that he has a lot of talent. Vettel is the only team mate that has even come close to matching his performance continually. As an aussie I wish he could win a championship but sadly I think that time is now past.

The funny thing is that he is only lacking tenths or less over say 1.5 - 2 minutes...he is rated by the F1 community as one of the better current drivers and is valued for his feedback on developing a car. Maybe his height has a bit to do with it. I read somewhere that he is cramped in the cockpit and that must make it hard to do the job.

Within my group of mates it is a tipping comp as to where he will be by the first corner ( how many places dropped)
Up until this year he dictated what time i went to bed, he crashes i crash 8)
I just don't think he's got the mugrel in him like vettel or a schumaker

I think its worth remembering the trouble an Aussie has to go to in comparison to there European counterparts. Our racing doesnt necessarily allow for drivers to move up the ranks to F1 without making the move OS early in there careers.

I dont think Webber has had an easy rise to the top.

He hasn't, but he hasn't done anything once he got there in anything not carrying Red Bull logos either.

But all his team mates from those teams aren't around anymore or in amazing cars... Gotta look at the whole picture. He's also been at red bull since well before they became successful. Once upon a time red bull and torro rosso ran outside the top 10, now they both run inside the top 12 or so at most races.

Let me see he raced for Minardi, scored their first points for 3 years in the Australian GP, added big cash injection to the team. Went to Jaguar the year after, to be honest Jackie Stewart had previously been involved with the team and said his son was better than Weber (others didn't think so) The car was unreliable at best and it should be noted in the first 5 years of racing Weber was never out qualified by his teamate! Went to williams with a Cosworth engine and a gear box from Daewoo (they were run out specials), the biggest problem was that the cars were completely unreliable. Little hard to win if the car can't finish.

Gets into a competitive car and starts winning with a healing broken leg, came very close to a championship at a time when most a thinking about retiring. Yes Vettel is better but the kid has been groomed for the sport and is much younger.

He was head of the drivers association for years, so clearly others thought he was good enough.

Remember he is not European so does not get the financial support and personal sponsors that some Europeans get that can bring to F1 yet he has been in F1 since 2002.
I can't see how people think he is not good enough
