hey im learning to do power wheelies, second gear at about 8000rpm snap back and then full throttle, im getting the wheel of the ground for about 3 seconds, and about a foot off the ground, i dont want to do clutch wheelies because im worried of getting it to high and slamming down hard doing damage, the way im doing it seems smooth and i like how it feels, its even better when there is a little crest to help the front end up a bit, am i doing the right thing or should i try clutch wheelies

but im no stunter either, i normally do it on the track or on the dirt squirter

Well, try 1st gear, gas up and slight lean back. Try it without the lean back and you will probably do it anyway .

Afterall 1st gear gets you up around the 100 or so.

I learnt how to clutch them up 'cause that's what Aardy's article taught for a 600 then promptly decided to stop sorry not much help.

My z750 gets looks all the time. And nothing looks better than a bike on it's rear wheel and a rider who can control it,

Stick with 2nd gear mate. First is 2 touchy and 2nd will allow you control the wheelie alot better once it is up.

Once it is up lean forward over the tank and try easy off the throttle a bit (dont shut it off). Easying off the throttle will allow you to level out the raise of the front wheel. once level just mediate the throttle in sync with the wheelie.

Try getting your hands on a dirt bike first. it'll teach you the basics within a day

Mate I can't do wheelies to save myself, but good on ya for having a go ..... I'd love to learn one day too. Maybe when I get that chooky.

Why is it that someone who wants to learn how to get the front wheel off the deck is automatically a dickhead who is going to do it in inappropriate places? Every time someone asks about wheelies on here, they get flamed. As long as it is practiced in a secluded environment, where is the harm in learning? It's their bike, they can break it if they want
