99 zx9r track bike
After basically no interest in IK's old zx9r. Ive decided to keep it and turn it into a track bike.
It already has an ohlins shock, pro tek rear sets, braided lines and a scorpion slip on exhaust.
Im going to strip off all the road gear and hopefully clothe it in raceglass.
Ive bid on some bits on ebay for it. Well see how they go.

Re: 99 zx9r track bike
I may have some race glass/spare fairings on the way.
Any recommendations on where I can get these painted?
Im not fussy on looks. I probably just want them black.

Re: 99 zx9r track bike
Ok, ive got some race style glass on the way.
One question. I may have some straight through ram air ducts.
I notice they have no place for the tubes that connect to the standard ducts.
And I know these tubes equalize the pressure in the airbox.
Is there a simple way around this? or will I be looking at some form of rejetting?

Re: 99 zx9r track bike
ended up going the wet4u option for race glass. I got the rear seat and the upper cowling. Im not getting a bellypan just yet. I pick them up wednesday and im thinking of keeping them white for the time being.
Ive got carbon fibre straight through intakes that will require some modifying.
After that its an oil and filter change and get the bridgestone slicks put on.
I have a 195/70 rear and a 125 front. Im guessing ill have to remove the rear hugger to fit such a high
profile tyre.
Photos to come

Re: 99 zx9r track bike
Picked up the race glass and dropped it straight out at allfixed to be painted an exciting black.
Picked up oil and a filter.
I may have a belly pan to go with the upper front and seat cowling.
Negotiating in german via ebay to pay for my straight through zx9r ducts via paypal.
30$ for an international transfer!! get faaarked
Im told the 195/70 rear slick will rub on the swingarm so im on the lookout for either
A) a set of 190 or 180 rear slicks with a matching front
or
B) a set of gpra11s or whatever formula extreme are using these days.
Am I forgetting anything other than photos?
