RANT...Worst bit of road on the Hume

Well our bypass is well underway and they have now opened the northern on-ramp and all traffic (2 way) is now being diverted onto this bit of road while the construct the dual carriageway.
This may sound well and good but it would have to be the biggest cockup I have ever seen. Travelling south after about 400kms of dual carriageway there is a long slightly down hill section with a couple of bends and then a tight left onto a bridge signposted at 65kms and then into the 50 zone.
Just went for a drive to check it out and b-doubles are coming into this corner at about 100. If they stuff it up they will run wide ito oncoming traffic that has nowhere to go. Thursday nights at this time there are about 1 truck every 15 seconds going over this bit of road.
Someone is going to get killed here for sure. It scared me...

Sounds scary!!!
Hey John 2 questions:
1. Who's gonna be our plod buffer at gingers this time without you there?

2. What's a b-double and why is it called that? I've never known and always wondered.

Dunno why they are called that but it's a double semi...prime mover with 2 trailers...scary coming towards you on a bendy road at almost twice the speed limit at night.

As John said, a prime mover with two trailers.
The trailers are called an "A" trailer and a "B" trailer, so hence the term "B" double.
The RTA is currently trialing triples running up and down the highways

I guess they will be called "C" triples.

Heavy bit of gear that

Even has a triaxle on the prime mover. Would have a massive HP engine to haul those trailers.....
Am I seeing things

The rocks in the background look like a shar pei dog with green ears sniffing the north end of a south bound two hump camel

I thought i saw something there, it wasn't until you mentioned it that it does resemble a dog. I thought it was more like a dog with it's head resting on a ball or something.

"Buddo's been heard to say - that because of all the slack (free play, slap & tickle, wear & tear)in the turn table jaws, king pins, ringfeeders, draw bar eyes & hinge pins - he was in 3rd notch before the last trailer even started to move."

It'd be easy, considering he'd be lucky to get above 10km/h
