Anyone know about this place or been there?
From a small bit of research it seems like a good place.
Considering a contract offer Inspecting cranes of all things, who would have thunk that

It's not a Symbiotic relationship

Jonno just got the low down from my father in law for you, here's what I remember.
It's the capital of the island Kalimantan which used to be called Borneo.
His sister lives there and his grandfather came from there. Nice city, and relatively safe, but make sure you have someone to be with you initially until you learn the city, customs etc. Don't go into the villages out of the city etc on your own until you've been there for a month or so, even then you probably should have a local win you. It's close to brunai I think he said, and is very rich in oil gas and gold etc. Even got an Offer that his family could help you out etc, but I said we'd wait and see if you end up going
Hope that helps, any other questions just ask and I'll get you an answer.
* edit. Ive Been to Jakarta a couple of times, in laws lived there and brother in law still lives there a few months here and there.

I mean this with the utomst respect, have you been to Indo? If not, then I'll let you know it's gonna be nothing like our capital cities, and the villages are a
real eye opener. When I used to travel to Melbourne for work I didn't need someone to teach me how and when to bribe people
