We're with AAMI and no they don't cover any of the bikes. Some will cover tiny kids bikes ie PeeWees etc. I've heard someone does include cover for unregistered bikes though but I'm not sure who. I would think the cover might be shit though. I've got the tracky's with Shannons for about $130 a year

No I asked about it when I bought the 6 back.....Although AAMI was willing to insure it full comp only against theft for 12k

...or 5k fire and theft even though it is not regitered

i thought you could nominate it as a listed item.
but you of course pay extra to cover it, probably similar to having a standalone policy.

Only covered for accessories, equipment or spares only so not disassembled bike. All my spares are for my roady not my tracky.

Hi John, are you sure?
Di (my lovely better half) has both mine insured with NRMA as a nominated portable valuable on our NRMA contents policy. They are insured for fire/theft while in the garage (or self storage) as well as in transit to/from the track.
Cheers
Matt

When I enquired NRMA said firmly No to it despite having varying policies over a few years. Maybe its got to do with postcode? I have no idea really and I worked for an insurance broker for 2 years. Didnt pay too much attention obviously

As such I went with Glen's option of Shannons which is fine cause I also have the roady with them

Couldn't you just list it as a $6000 diamond ring

Hi Folks, just wanted to drag this one back up.
We're in the process of moving and just going through insurances and checking options for places that are on our short list, and it seems that NRMA DO NOT COVER unregistered track bikes under contents. I have had my original track bike listed on the policy as listed transportable valualble for the last 3 years and the more recent one for about 6 months, god knows what they thought a Kawasaki ZX6R motorcycle was (if not a motorcycle).
Anyways, off to contact Shannons.
Phark!
