Before i attempt to remove the tank Pad on my ZX10 to put a nicer won something that has boob's onit , is there a bad or good way off doing it, any secret's before i make a mess of it ?

White spirit's ....That's what RR told me and he's the guru...

yep, white spirits (or drycleaning fluid) works great to remove the sticky gunk left behind and wont damage the paint

Now where did I leave my KSRC tank stickers....... The Rex is necked atm

I have used a hairdryer, heat the pad up nice and warm and they just peal straight off, glue and all.

Boobs on the tank pad to match the boob riding it ah? Jim Beam.

When we are removing graphics on vehicles we will generally work outside & use the sun to warm the adhesive as it is quicker that the heat gun...... that's when winter sux for us
But the vinyls over 10 years old mostly require more persuasive methods.

Rob, what about the faded paint around where the sticker was, any way to blend it as such?

Sometimes you can sand the area, (both the faded and non) with 1500 grit wet or dry sandpaper, (sand it wet) until it is all fairly well roughed up then buff it out with a good machine buffing compound made for clearcoat. Do not use regular rubbing compound as you will totaly screw up your paint. Get the proper stuff from a reputable paint supply shop. I've done this several times and it almost always improves it, (I say almost as sometimes if the paint and clearcoat are really old it fucks it up). Two or twenty shots of Jim Beam make the job much more pleasant. Drink it, don't put it on the paint.

Chances are if its bad you are stuck with it...... there is no magic wand for bringing back faded paint or making the covered section look faded.
