Oil in Airbox....

Just been stripping down the six to do a bit of routine maintenance and noticed there was oil in the overflow bottle
Opened up the airbox and there is a little bit of oil in there....Is this just from too much oil?.....I did it myself last time and it's a little high, ok a lot

all my bikes have emitted a slight mist that accumulates in the airbox, as long as the oil level is right in the sight glass don't worry too much.
With your oil change Just get the level close run the bike for 10min then let it sit for 30min to settle then top up to the 1/2 way mark

If you overfill your oil it will create too much oil pressure and do massive damage to seals and cause the pump to fail etc... Bad idea...
Should be filled no higher that glass marker...Newb

Pinched from the web
Take note of where the oil level is in relation to the pair of indicator marks on the top and bottom of the oil sight glass. Ideally, your oil level should be evenly centred between both marks. If the oil level is closer to the lower mark, add oil slowly to raise the oil level. Conversely, drain a small amount of oil through the oil filler cap if the oil level is closer to the upper mark.

slightly off-topic. The Pearl has a sump capacity of 4 litres.
This is identical to the sump capacity of my old HQ 308 panel van !
No wonder old motors last forever, and new ones shit themselves inside 10 years
ps - Disco - a little bit of oil in the airbox is nothing to worry about. If you overfill the sump, excess oil will be pumped out of the breather into the airbox, its *not* good, so drop the level to the oil level mark in the sight glass. ( I always use the upper mark ?)
