As with a new motor, standard mineral grade is best - allows smoothing of the bore and is cheaper as it is in use for such a short term. Some will change it after the first 100 to ensure any initial metal is flushed out, then at the 1000, or just do 500 & 1000.
It's all about getting the imperfections off the bore and removing them from the oil. A synthetic oil can allow the rings to move over an imperfection and mis-shape the bore - Fully synthetic is not recommended until 8,000km.

you can get running in oil whitch is very basic mineral and i would run 15/40 to be safe when the motor has been beded in.brocks performance recomended me to run 0/20 in my bike in australian climate ( but im scared to) with a 3HP rise

Motul 5100 semi-synth will be fine from here on in mate. Coles home-brand turns my chips brown.

they say to run FULL synthetic if you want to run thin oil ! if the motor is beded in full synthetic is a lot more refined under heat and keeps it's viscoserty

1000 km's is more than enough if the motor has been beded in properly

Yeah I put coles home brand oil in mine. Worked really good!
Really slowed down the rebound on my cheap pit bike forks!
No really I'm serious.
Oh you mean the engine....
I use a mineral monograde (not sure of brand...maybe penrite or something) it's for small engines like lawnmowers and stuff. Works really good. Run it for a couple hundred k's and dump it. Just make sure whatever you use doesn't have any friction modifiers.
