What do you do with a busted ZX6?

So the scenario is........
A friend of mine has a 2008 ZX6 track bike in pretty good condition.
The bike dropped a valve at 3000klm's so we have (oops, my friend has) an engine with a definite munted top end all the way down to the crank (at least). We (He) doesn't know whether the crank is bent.
We (He) also has a munted motor that some dimwit bought over Ebay from a wrecker in the US and got ripped off. This motor appears to have a good top end (I emphasis appears as he doesn't know without the benefit of a full strip down) but it has very low oil pressure so it may be that the bottom end is crapola.
The bike owes about $7,000 plus $2,600 for the munted motor from the US already.
What do you do from here......
Option 1
You have two engines which may potentially be able to be built into one provided both cranks and other bits hitherto unseen and untested are OK. This is a fair risk and if the seller of the US motor is as we expect the engine could be quite shite as we expect it may have run without oil.
I (my friend that is) couldn't be screwed doing this oneself ( and also would highly likely screw it up even further if attempted) so will need to enlist the aid of Sydney Northwests legend of all things mechanical (Glenn at Allfixed).
We're tipping you'll probably throw $1500 - $2000 at this provided nothing else goes pear shaped.
Option2
Cut your losses, advertise the thing with two half munted motors but otherwise in really good condition, get out of it the best you can and move on. Maybe the best you could expect is around $4k if someone with mechanical ability wants to grab a cheap tracky. Will be hard to sell though as the right person is probably hard to find. Upside is you can move on and buy the R6 or GSXR you should have bought in the first place
Option 3
Wait till a similar crapbox turns up mainly munted in a wreckers and buy it for the motor, sell off whatever other bits you can and then either keep it or sell it as a complete working tracky.
Other considerations
The thought of throwing more money at it just seems like good money after bad.
The team rider really would like an R6 or GSXR
So what do you all reckon. Hit me with your best bit of advice or throw something at me that I haven't thought of
