Hey Everyone,
I know it is early but I have to put in for my holidays now to make sure I get the dates I want. This year I have desided to make my first trip to the Mekka of Motorbikes....Phillip Island. I'll have 2 weeks in Melbourne and I want to make the most of my time.

What i am after:
1. Where is a good place to stay during the GP?? I'll be on my ZX10R so taking camping supplies may be out of the equasion. Would be nice to ride to the track each day.

2. What sights and roads around Victoria sould I definately not miss out on?? I'll be based at Essendon for the 2 weeks so good day long rides would be perfect.

3. What different raod rules should I know about??

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers

Victorian policing of speed limits is draconian so be very alert very alert very alert and NSW isn't far behind them either

You'll need to contact the Phillip Island tourist info centre - they can sort you out with advice about accomodation. Better get cracking, stuff is generally booked out early.

If you can, you should do a run up through the Reefton/Black spurs. Watch the radars though - they get really active during GP week. There are a lot of good other back-roads as well.

Here is my Itinery from last year.... The quoted prices were split between 4 blokes eg: (4 beds or 2 rooms). We always just lock our bikes up at Sam Remo for the 4 days. We use the shuttle bus to the Track and Cowes etc. More comfortable with no gear/helmet to look after ;) The Sanny Pub goes off at Gp time and not as packed as Cowes
