Just throwing the question out there.

$5000 is a fair bit of coin & for the average punter is it really that much better ?

Those electronics seem to be the best thing since sliced bread. Also the new model will hold its value for longer down the track. If you arent desperate, just wait a few months and the prices will come down.

Having not riden the 2010 model I dunno, based on specs alone I would say yes, based on my own 2011 bike definately yes.
If you want the latest and greatest..yes, if you are happy with a run out model just for financial reasons then no.

But for the extra 5 large you do get a much better machine in everyway IMO

Just keeping an eye on whats around at the moment Jonno .

On a side note....2011 z1000ABS going for $14790 ride away....hmm might have to start going for some test rides .

They are a tasty and capable bike mate

You should do much better than that price wise on a Zed

I reckon the '11 model is worth every cent of that difference mate. Going by the reviews so far anyway...........

Don't know where you got the $5000 from.
I was offered one for $17500 ride away for one of 3 bikes a local dealer had on the floor 5 weeks ago.
That same dealer has them advertised on bike sales for $18500 ride away.
Just for the record I kept my 09. All the electrics in the world mite make me faster but not better. I'd rather be working on my skills to get faster on the bike I have so I can beat up the blokes on the newer bikes .

My thoughts exactly

If your happy to wait 6 - 9 months you'll probably get the newey for the same price anyway. I don't know that I'd buy the first model of anything anyway, you just pay too much and you end up with the problems.

If I had a choice I'd go a 11 zx10r

not much difference between the two models 2011 -2010 in outright performance at the pro level.

PI - 2011 zx-10r Tom Sykes - 1.33.276 fastest lap . qualifying 132.204
PI - 2010 zx-10r Tom Sykes - 1.33.705 fastest lap . qualifying 132.396

The figures suggest the zx-10r 2011 isnt a big improvement over the 2010 model (early days yet)

However to the average punter i reakon it's worth the extra $$, i'm kicking myself for not waiting a bit longer and getting the 2011 model for the extra ponies , rider aids , abs ect

Just going on bikesales prices. Happy with my 09 so far .......eventhough its only early days. Agree with your last comment mate..

Neither of them are a 5 - 6k better bike than a ZRX
